“Composite” is a choral work with body movements created in 2014 through a workshop with children from a mountainous village in the Philippines. Since then, it has been performed in various cities, involving participants who are not professional singers. This work combines simple movements and polyphonic vocal arrangements, generating multiple rhythm patterns simultaneously, gradually building and amplifying as a group. The choral format involves the exchange of rules among different groups, creating a new methodology for performances without a central figure like a conductor.
During the performance, as the choir gradually converges, it enters a time without predetermined rules. However, a unique atmosphere and a certain sense of order establish, allowing the audience to experience the world of the piece more intensely and for an extended period.
