“Things that don’t know” and “Ringo” were presented at the Sapporo International Art Festival 2017.
“Ringo” involved peeling off the interior walls of an old stone warehouse (previously stored apples, now renovated and used as a karaoke classroom) slated for demolition, restoring its former appearance, and creating a water circulation system using minimal materials such as glass containers and rubber codes.
The waste generated from the venue “Ringo” was also utilized as materials for the installation “Things that don’t know” which occupied an entire floor of the commercial building.
“Things that don’t know” expressed past events that once took place at the site and possible events that could have taken place at the site, through the composition of the installation, flow of visitors reminiscent of a mountain climbing course, and live performances held at the venue.
